The biggest advantage in using presentation softare is having the ability to just be able to present the information and not having to write it all out every single time you want to present it. You can make one powerpoint prsentation and use it on a hundred classes if you wanted to. The biggest disadvantage to such technology is the fact that you can't really manipulate the material that is being resented, it is already made up and you would have to stop the presentation to fix something which would take a lot of time.

I could use powerpoint to suport student learning in each knowledge dimension by engaging their visual senses by making a powerpoint presentation that is aesthetically pleasing. This beats using the old chalkboard. I could engage their auditory sense buy activating sound on certain slides. Powerpoints help make student learning more interesting and engage the whole class a lot easier than ordinary chalkboard methods.

An issue related to educational technology is how will we be able to treat each student fairly? We physically can't give everyone the same opportunities when it comes to technology. Schools with more money are going to gain better acess to technology than poorer schools. It might just leave the poor schools even further behind than they already are, nowadays we are trying harder than ever to treat everyone fairly, but technology might make bridging that gap a lot harder.
